Access denied into Bir al’Id
A group of activists trying to enter Bir al’Id were shown a ‘closed military zone’ decree and were not allowed in.
Over the last few weeks we’ve been helping rebuild a road and develop an area of Bir al’Id. This area belongs to residents who were expelled by the IDF and some settlers some years ago. Afew months ago The Supreme Court granted the owners an authorization to return to their lands. A number of courageous families returned to this area and are residing in tents and in caves.
Without any explanation, the army was waiting on the road leading to Bir al’Id and decreed the area a closed zone. Therefore, we are sad to report we could not work with the people of Bir al’Id.
