 Following is a report of the activities of the South Hebron Mt. Committee (not including the area of Susya).

To attend to a growing number of problems, and to operate in a different strategy, which may be more effective, members of the committee began trying to arrive to the area more often in a form of small groups.  this “mini-project” began at the weekend of March 28^th, and is operated in cooperation with international activists of ISM and CPT.  As part of the project a tent was built to accommodate the activists in the village of Tawane.

In the past couple of weeks a number of events occurred:

1. An IDF armored vehicle would enter the village twice a day, while turning the siren on and standing next to one of the houses it would exhale large quantities of smoke into the house.  This was photographed, and although the soldiers would still enter the village in the days following their encounter with the camera they have stopped harassing the village using the  sirens and the smoke.
2. A group of activists took a walk to Hirbat Tuba, the one where the young school children are forced to walk nearly 10 kilometers to the elementary school in Twane (if they bother at all to walk there), since settlers have blocked the short route near Maon and Havat Maon.  The army arrived with a warrant of a closed military zone demanding the activists leave.  the activists agreed to leave and asked the officer to help the kids to go back through the short route, the officer agreed, and for two days the children walked to school the short way (for the first time in a year), at the moment we don’t know what is the situation in the field, and we will follow up.
3. A plowing mission was done in a filed owned by resident from Jimba and Twane, where the they’re no longer able to reach daily
4. A demolition order was filed against our tent by the civil administration.
5. Last Saturday, April 19^th, some settlers from Maon beat up an elderly Palestinian woman who was shepherding he goats in her fields, in the valley close to the settlements.  The group of activists in Twane hurried to the place, there were settlers from Maon - some with guns.  One of them, about 40 years old holding an M-16 rifle. The residents of the village and the activists approached him yelling at him to leave the place, but he responded with shooting in the air and then to their feet, one of the activists was wounded lightly from the ricochet of one of the bullets.  The entire event was documented on camera! .  The video tape and complaints were given to the police in Hebron and the Shepard that was beaten up was driven to the hospital, she was released later that evening.

להלן דו"ח פעילות של ועדת דרום הר חברון (לא כולל אזור סוסיא).

 על מנת לתת מענה למספר בעיות רב, ולפעול בצורה שונה שעשויה להיות אפקטיבית יותר, החלו חברי ועדת דרום הר חברון של תעאיוש לנסות להגיע לאיזור לעיתים קרובות בקבוצות קטנות. ה"מיני-פרויקט" החל בסוף השבוע של ה-28 במרץ, ונערך בשיתוף פעולה עם פעילים בינלאומיים של ISM ו-CPT. כחלק מהעניין, נבנה אוהל אירוח של תעאיוש (מעין "שיג" בדואי) בכפר טואנה.

בשבועות שחלפו מאז קרו מספר דברים:

1. נגמ"ש צה"לי היה נכנס לכפר פעמיים ביום, מפעיל את הסירנה, ובשעה שהוא נעמד ליד אחד הבתים, נושף כמויות גדולות של עשן לתוך אותו בית. התופעה תועדה במצלמה, ולמרות שהמשיכו להכנס לכפר מספר ימים אחר כך, הפסיקו חיילי הנגמ"ש, מאז אותו מפגש עם המצלמה, להטריד באמצעות עשן וסירנות.
2. קבוצת פעילים עשתה טיול לחירבת תובה, החירבה שילדיה הקטנים נאלצים ללכת קרוב ל-10 קילומטר ברגל כדי להגיע לבי"ס היסודי בטואנה (אם הם בכלל טורחים ללכת), משום שמתנחלים חסמו להם את הנתיב הקצר העובר בסמוך למעון ולחוות מעון. הגיע צבא ובידיו צו שטח צבאי סגור בדרישה שהפעילים יסתלקו. הפעילים ניאותו להתפנות וביקשו מהקצין בשטח שיעזור לילדי חירבת תובה לחזור בדרך הקצרה. הוא הסכים, ובמשך יומיים – אחרי שנה שהדרך היתה חסומה בפניהם – הלכו ילדי ביה"ס בדרך הקצרה. בינתיים, לא ברור מה המצב בשטח, והנושא ימשיך לעמוד בבדיקה.
3. התבצע חריש ללא נוכחותנו בשטח ששייך לתושבים מחירבת ג'ימבה ומהכפר טואנה, שאליו לא מאפשרים לתושבים להיכנס באופן יומי.
4. יצא צו הריסה מהמנהל האזרחי לאוהל של תעאיוש במקום.
5. ביום שבת האחרון, 19.4, הכו מספר מתנחלים ממעון, אישה זקנה שרעתה את העדר בשדות שלה, בעמק שנפרס עד גבולות ההתנחלות. קבוצת פעילים שהיתה בטואנה מיהרה למקום, שם היו מספר מתנחלים ממעון, חלקם חמושים. אחד מהם, כבן ארבעים, מחזיק ברובה M-16. תושבי הכפר והפעילים התקרבו אליו בצעקות שיסתלק מהמקום, אך הוא הגיב ביריות באוויר, ובהמשך – יריות לעבר הרגליים. אחת הפעילות נפצעה באורח קל מנתזים של אחד הקליעים. האירוע תועד במצלמה. הקלטת ותלונות של הנוכחים הוגשו במשטרת חברון מיד אחר-כך. האישה שהוכתה הובהלה לבית חולים בחברון, ושוחררה עוד באותו ערב.
