לנפילת חומת ברלין, הוכרז כיום של סולידריות בינלאומית
וברחבי העולם הפגינו מיליוני אנשים בקריאה להסרת חומות בין בני אדם ועמים בשבת, 8 בנובמבר יום לפני יום השנה לציון נפילת חומת ברלין ערכנו בצהריים פעולת מחאה יהודית-ערבית במקום סלילת הגדר בירושלים ובערב הפגנה בתל-אביב לא לחומת ברלין החדשה
בימים אלה מבצעת
ממשלת
ישראל את אחד הפרויקטים הגדולים והיקרים בתולדות
המדינה. הממשלה בונה באופן חד-צדדי מערכת גדרות וחומות באורך של מאות
קילומטרים. בעוד ששם המיזם, "גדר ההפרדה", מעלה בדעתם של רוב אזרחי ישראל
הפרדה ביטחונית וגבול פוליטי, לפרויקט מטרות אחרות לגמרי. הגדר תוכננה כך
שתורחק ככל הניתן מהקו הירוק, תספח מספר גדול של התנחלויות, ותפקיע שטחים
נרחבים. גדר זו, יחד עם גדר נוספת שתבנה באזור הבקעה ואחרות שיחברו בינהן
יחסלו סופית את האפשרות להקים מדינה פלסטינית בת-קיימא. הן יהפכו את
פלסטין למערכת של מכלאות וגטאות שלעומתן יחוויר האפרטהייד הדרום אפריקאי.

פרויקט זה
נבנית
בירושלים בקצב מואץ חומה חדשה המפרידה בין אם
לבנה, בין חולה לבית החולים, בין המת לבית הקברות, בין העובד למקום
העבודה, בין התלמיד לבתי ספרו, ובין הסטודנט לאוניברסיטה. חומה זו תהפוך
את החיים משני צידיה לגיהנום. היא נבנית לא רק כדי לספח שטחים והתנחלויות,
ממעלה אדומים ועד הר חומה, אלא כדי למרר את חייהם של עשרות אלפי הפלסטינים
שהיא מספחת ולגרום להם לעזוב את ביתם.
יחד קראנו: לא לחומת האפרטהייד! כן לחיים יחד, כן לשלום! "אזרחי ישראל נגד הגדר" היא קואליציה של ארגונים, תנועות ויחידים הקוראים להפסיק לאלתר את בניית גדר ההפרדה. אנו סבורים, שהגדר מטרפדת את הסיכויים לשלום: זו גדר שמספחת לא רק את ההתנחלויות, אלא גם שטחים מסביבן שישמשו להתפשטותן. זו גדר ארוכה ומפותלת, שעלות הקמתה יקרה ואבטחתה בעייתית. זו גדר שמבתרת את הגדה המערבית, ותוקעת את הפלסטינים בסיר לחץ: ללא חקלאות, ללא מסחר, ללא מקורות מים, ללא חופש תנועה בין כפרי הגדה, וללא שירותי חינוך, בריאות ורווחה. On November 8, 2003,
as part of the events commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall, Jews
and Arabs, Israelis and Palestinians, have demonstrated together
against
the “separation fence.” The protest took place on the site of the
new Berlin Wall in Eastern Jerusalem and later in Tel-Aviv.
Together
we said:
NO to the apartheid wall! YES to living together and to peace! The Sharon government is
carrying
out one of the largest and most
expensive projects in Israel’s history. The government is unilaterally
building a series of barriers, fences, trenches and walls over hundreds
of kilometers. While the name of the enterprise, the “separation
fence,” has persuaded the majority of Israeli citizens that the
objective of this project is to fulfill security concerns and create a
political border, in reality the project’s aims are totally different.
The wall was planned in such a way that it will built as far as
possible from the Green Line (the pre-1967 border), annex a large
number of Jewish settlements, and expropriate large swathes of
Palestinian land. This wall, alongside another wall being planned in
the Jordan valley, together with still other walls which will connect
them, will eliminate any possibility of creating a viable Palestinian
state. The walls will transform Palestine into a series of ghettos and
Bantustans; Apartheid South Africa will pale by comparison.
As part
of this project, a
new wall
is being built with great speed in
East Jerusalem – one that indiscriminately separates mother and child,
the sick from hospitals, the dead from cemeteries, employees from their
workplace, and students from schools and universities. This wall will
make life on both sides a living hell. It is being built not only to
annex territory and the settlements, Ma’ale Adumim and Har Homa, but
also to embitter the lives of tens of thousands of Palestinians who
will be “annexed” by the wall, which will ultimately force them to
leave their homes.
