מחמוד אלסעדי, זכרונו לברכה, היה רק בן 17 כשנורה למוות ע"י המשטרה, ביום שני, 8 לדצמבר 2003, ב- 9 בערב ברחוב ההסתדרות ברמלה. "מבכירי סוחרי הסמים בלוד" לפי דברי המשטרה, היה תלמיד תיכון מקצועי וחניך במוסך נטול הרשעות, שהשתכר 50 ש"ח ביום וחלק חדר עם ארבעת אחיו בבית צנוע. בדיונים שהתנהלו מאז האירוע בבתי משפט לא חזרה המשטרה על הטענות שהשמיעה בתקשורת בדבר סחר בסמים.

עם קליעים בראש, בצוואר, בכתף ובחזה לא היה לו סיכוי. מחמוד מת למחרת במחלקת טיפול נמרץ ילדים בבי"הח אסף הרופא.

מחמוד לא היה הקורבן הראשון לכדורי המשטרה מאז אוקטובר 2000. קדמו לו בשנת 2003 מורסי ג'יבלי מטייבה ונאסר אבולקיעאן מהנגב שנורו למוות ע"י שוטרים ביולי. נגד המגב"ניק שירה כדור בראשו של נאסר אבולקיעאן דרך שמשת המכונית, בעודו מחכה לרמזור שיתחלף בצומת שוקת, הוגש כתב אישום בגין הריגה. והנה, חודשים ספורים לאחר מכן נהרג מכדורי המשטרה מחמוד אלסעדי, מאחורי ההגה בעודו מחכה לרמזור ברמלה.

נראה שדו"ח ועדת אור חלף פרח כלא היה. שוטרים יורים בלא היסוס בנערים ובצעירים ערבים כאילו הם חיילי אויב בשדה קרב, ולא בני אדם הנעים בכבישי עירם וארצם.

Mahmud el-Sa'adi z"l was only 17 when he was shot to death by the police, on Monday, December 8th 2003, at 21:00 on HaHistadrut St., Ramle. "One of Lud's leading drug dealers", according to the police, Mahmud was a vocational high school student with no criminal record whatsoever, who made NIS 50 a day as trainee car mechanic and shared a bedroom in modest house with his four brothers. In the court hearings that followed the event the police did not repeat the drug-dealing allegations they had made in the press.

With bullets in the head, neck, chest and shoulder, Mahmud didn't stand a chance. He died the next day in the children's intensive care ward at Assaf harofe hospital.

Mahmud was not the first victim of police shootings since October 2000. In July 2003 Mursi Jibli of Taybeh and Nasser AbulKian of the Negev were killed in similar circumstances. The border partol who had shot Abulkian in the head through his car's side window, as he waited for the traffic light to change at Shoket intersection, was indicted with manslaughter. A few months later Mahmud el-Sa'adi was shot to death by the police while waiting for the traffic light to change at an intersection in Ramle.

The Orr committee report seems to have vanished without a trace. The police shoot at Arab boys and young men without hesitation, as if they were enemy soldiers on a battle field, not people moving about their own city, in their own country.

On Friday, January 23^rd 2003, we held a protest memorial vigil with Mahmud's family and friends, outside the family home in Lud
