הפגנה נגד חומת ההפרדה, אבו -דיס, ירושלים. 7 בפברואר 2004
חומה בגובה 8 מטר מוקמת בלב
השכונות הערביות בירושלים. היא מנתקת את הפלסטינים מבני משפחתם, מקומות
עבודתם, בתי הספר שלהם, בתי החולים ואפילו בתי הקברות. החומה מכניסה את
תושביה הפלסטינים של ירושלים למכלאות, היא חונקת אותם והופכת את חייהם
לגיהנום, מגבירה את הזעם והשנאה ומרחיקה את הסיכוי לפיוס
זאת לא חומת ביטחון

זהות כחולה מחוץ לירושלים. ביר-אונא(בדרום), מחנה פליטים שועפאת ודחית
א-סלאם (במזרח), א-רם (בצפון-מזרח) וכפר עקב וסמירמיס (בצפון). מעל 80,000
פלסטינים תושבי ירושלים נותרים מחוץ לעיר. מצד שני אלפי תושבי הגדה, חסרי
תעודות זהות ירושלמיות שבנו את ביתם בתוך השטח העירוני של העיר, הופכים
לשוהים בלתי חוקיים בבתיהם וסובלים הצקות והטרדות יומיומיות. במקביל סופחו
בסמוך לשכונות היהודיות נוה יעקב ופסגת זאב שטחים פתוחים כעתודות לבניה
ולהתרחבותן בעתיד

שעשרות אלפי בני אדם שעד כה הגיעו לבתי-החולים אל-מקאסד ואוגוסטה
ויקטוריה בירושלים המזרחית, נשארים עתה ללא בית חולים מרכזי. גם חלק
מצוותי בתי-החולים לא יכולים כבר היום להגיע למקום עבודתם

ובירושלים המזרחית פוגעת בנגישותם של למעלה מ- 17,000 נכים לטיפול אצל
מומחים

שכמה מאות תלמידות ותלמידים, מורות ומורים מתקשים להגיע מדי יום ביומו
לבתי הספר שבירושלים המזרחית. סטודנטים רבים מירושלים המזרחית מתקשים

חשמלית (עם סנסורים), דרך טשטוש, דרך פטרולים, וגדר מעכבת נוספת. ובמקומות
שבהם ישנה חומה, מדובר במכשול צר בגובה 8 מטרים הנשלט על-ידי מצלמות

שבאזור ירושלים יוקמו שני מסופי גבול גדולים. האחד בצפון באזור קלנדיה
והשני בדרום באזור נועימאן. לא ידוע על תכנון מעברים כלשהם לכלי-רכב לאורך
הגדרות והחומות שבחלק המזרחי של החומה
אל תגידו: לא ידענו שבירושלים
וסביבתה תוקמנה 4 מכלאות. בצפון: ביר-נבאללה- אל-ג'יב,
ובידו-קטנא-בית-ליקיא. בדרום: מכלאת אל-ולג'ה ומכלאת בתיר-חוסאן-נחלין.
ממכלאות אלו יוכלו לצאת, אם בכלל, בכבישים תת-קרקעיים

An
eight-meter high wall is being set up at the heart of the Arabic
neighborhoods in Jerusalem. It cuts Palestinians from their
families, working places, schools, hospitals and even cemeteries. The
wall is imprisoning Jerusalem's Palestinians residents in internment
camps, strangling them and turning their lives into a living hell,
amplifying the rage and hate and preventing any chance to future
reconciliation.

Don’t
say you didn’t know
that the approximately 350,000
Palestinians who live on either side of the wall in Jerusalem feel the
effects of the wall: their right to property, freedom of movement,
livelihood, education, and health are all being violated.
Don’t say you
didn’t
know that the wall
in Jerusalem cuts off more
than 250,000 Palestinians who live inside the municipal boundaries of
Jerusalem from 600,000 Palestinians who live nearby, a sizable number
of
whom are from the same families.
Don’t say you
didn’t
know that the wall
leaves Jerusalem
neighborhoods (in which residents who hold blue identity cards live)
outside of Jerusalem: Bir-Una in the south, the refugee camp of
Shoafat and Dihiat E-Salam in the east, A-Ram in the northeast, and the
village of Akav and Smirimis in the north. Over 80,000
Palestinian
residents of Jerusalem will be left outside the city. On the
other
hand, thousands of West Bank Palestinians, who do not have Jerusalem
identity cards but who have built their houses within the municipal
borders of Jerusalem, have become illegal residents inside their own
homes and suffer from daily intimidation and harassment.
Simultaneously, territory near the Jewish settlements of Neve Ya’acov
and
Pisgat Zaev have been annexed in order to expand the territory of these
settlements.

know that tens of
thousands of people who
until recently have made use of Mukassed and Augusta Victoria hospitals
are today left without a central hospital. In addition, many
hospital workers are not able to reach their place of work.
Don’t say you
didn’t
know that the wall
south of Ramallah and in
East Jerusalem makes access to treatment for 17,000 handicapped people
nearly impossible.
Don’t say you
didn’t
know that every day
thousands of students and
teachers have trouble reaching their schools in East Jerusalem.
Many students from East Jerusalem have difficulty reaching El-Quds
University, which is in Abu Dis.
Don’t say you
didn’t
know that the wall
in East Jerusalem includes
the annexation of over 70,000 dunams of land.
Don’t say you
didn’t
know how the wall is
being built: in those
places where a fence is being built, the structure will include: a dirt
barricade, a ditch to prevent vehicle traffic, a security path, a
non-electric three-meter fence (with sensors), and in those places
where
a wall is being built: there will be an eight-meter high barricade,
which
will be monitored by cameras.

know that in the
Jerusalem area two huge
checkpoints will be erected. One in the north, near Qalandiya,
and
the other in the south near Nueman. There is as of yet no plan to
create a passage for vehicles on the eastern part of the walls and
fences.

know that in and
near Jerusalem four
Bantustans will be created. In the north: Bir Naballa-El-jib and
Bido-Katana-Beit-Lika. In the south: El-Leja and
Batir-Husan-Nahlin. It will only be possible to leave -- if at
all
-- these Bantustans through underground roads.

know that the wall
in Jerusalem affects the
major Palestinian vehicular arteries between Jerusalem and Ramallah,
between Bir-Naballa and A-Ram and between Ras-El-Amud-Abu Dis and
El-Azaria.
