הם יכולים להמשיך להסתובב בקרוסלה, להתנדנד בנדנדות, ולהכין עוגות בחול. המהנדסת מטעם העיריה הודיעה לנו (יום א', 13/06/04) שביקרה בגן וראתה שתיקנו את כל המתקנים לשביעות רצונה. מבחינתה ומבחינת מחלקת ההנדסה העניין סגור, והיא גם הודיעה על כך לראש עיריית רמלה, יואל לביא. אנו מודים לכל מי שעזר במסע זה לשמירת גן המשחקים, למען שיפור ילדותם של ילדי שכונת הרכבת, רמלה. אתם מוזמנים לבוא על טפכם לשחק בגן. להתראות! |
| Good news! Ta'ayush: Arab-Jewish Partnership are
pleased to announce that the treat of demolition of the playground by
the Ramle municipality is meanwhile cancelled. The children of the
railway neighbourhood are even more pleased.
They can carry on playing with the merry-go-round, the swings, and make mud cakes. The municipality engineer told us that as far as she and the Ramla engineering dept. are concerned the problem is closed. She notified the Ramle mayor, Yoel Lavi. We thank everyone who took part in this struggle for keeping the playground, for a better childhood for the railway neighbourhood kids. You are invited to arrive to the kindergarten with your kids. משכונת הרכבת ברמלה
ביום שלישי, 4
במאי, הוציאה עירית רמלה צו הריסה לגן המשחקים שהוקם בידי תושבי השכונה
ואנשי תעאיוש. הצו הכיל דרישה להרוס את המתקנים תוך 48 שעות בתואנה שאינם
בטיחותיים, וָלא - תהרוס אותם העירייה. מאז יום שלישי
אנו פועלים במישורים שונים למניעת ההריסה. הצלחנו ליצור הד בתקשורת
המקומית ולהפעיל לחץ על העירייה מצד חברי מועצה וחברי כנסת. הבוקר, עם תום
48 השעות, הגענו לשכונה להיות עם התושבים ולנסות למנוע את ההריסה במקרה
שהעירייה תנסה לממש את הצו. לשמחתנו העירייה הבינה את הרמזים ובמקום להרוס
את הגן נקבעה ישיבה עם מהנדס העיר ליום ראשון בשביל ללבן את הסוגיה, אנו
מקווים שבדרך יותר קונסטרוקטיבית. בהפוגה שנוצרה
אנחנו רוצים להמשיך וליצור לחץ ציבורי, וקוראים לכל המעוניינות

עיריית רמלה טוענת כי הגן אינו בטיחותי. אנו, שבנינו אותו וליווינו את המקום מקרוב טרם הבנייה יודעים כי:
- לפני שבנינו את הגן פינינו מאתר ההקמה כמויות גדולות מאוד של פסולת מסוכנת: ברזלים חלודים, שלדי מכוניות, חפצים חדים ומה לא, שיצרו בורות ומהמורות שילדים קטנים יכולים ליפול לתוכם.
- לפני הקמת הגן היו עשרות הילדים בשכונת הרכבת מסתובבים בחוסר מעש. לא תמיד הצליחו המבוגרים ובני הנוער הגדולים יותר למנוע מהם לשחק ברולטת כביש על נתיב התחבורה הסואן שבפתח בתיהם, או לשוטט על פסי הרכבת. הקמת הגן שמה קץ לפעילויות אלה.
- לילדי שכונת הרכבת עדיין נשקפת סכנה אמיתית מפסי הרכבת המפרידים בינם לבין שאר העיר.
אנו שואלים את עיריית רמלה:

Ramla city engineer - an update Today (09/05/2004) Ta'ayush
activists and mixed cities project workers - Shatil - met with the city
engineer, architect Ehud Sachsenberg.
* It was agreed that the municipality will wait with the demolition and we shall fix what has to be fixed. Eng. Talma Weinberger has already sent the requirements and it seems we shall be able to fulfil them. * The public pressure helped! The faxes - emails - media - presence - helped! The situation is still problematic but there seems to be a change. Thank you very much! Update from the Ramle railroad
neighbourhood
On Tuesday, 4th
May, Ramla municipality issued a demolition warrant to the playground
built by the neighbourhood and Ta'ayush. The warrant contains demand to
demolish the installations within 48 hours
in the pretext
that they are not safe, otherwise they will be demolished by the
municipality.
Since Tuesday
we struggle in several domains to prevent the demolition. We succeeded
in raising the interest of the local media and put pressure on the
minicipality from Knesset and council members.
This morning,
when the period of 48 hours expired, we arrived to the neighbourhood to
be with the inhabitants and to try to prevent the coming demolition.
Fortunately,
the municipality decided to think this over and instead of demolishing
the playground a meeting was set up with the city engineer on Sunday in
order to resolve this problem, hopingly in a more constructive way.
We call you to
continue and pursue this matter, and send protest letters/emails.

On
18th of October 2003, Ramle and Lud residents and Ta'ayush members from
all over the country built a playground for the children of the
railroad neighbourhood. See here.
Today (04/05/04) Yoel Lavi, the mayor of Ramle issued a demolition warrant to the playground.
This is the warrant, signed by the Ramle municipality engineer.
Yoel Lavi is tough confronting children. Yoel wants to bring back the situation to this:
- The municipality claims that the playground is unsafe. We, who have created it and who closely followed the situation prior to its construction know that:
- Before we could construct the playground, we had to remove a large amount of construction waste from the site, including: car carcasses, rusty and sharp metal objects and random rubble that created pits and holes a small child could easily fall into.
Prior to the construction of the playground, scores of children living in the railway neighborhood, having no leisure activity alternatives, would often play highway roulette: that is, risk their lives running across the highway in front of speeding cars. Or they would loiter on the train tracks. The adults and older kids couldn't always prevent these activities. The construction of the playground put an end to these activities.
The children of the Railway neighborhood still face real danger from the train tracks that separate their homes from the rest of the city.
we ask the municipality of Ramleh:
Can the playground, so carefully and lovingly constructed, pose a greater danger to these kids than this kind of environment?
What's the real motive behind the demolition initiative?
How can anyone be so heartless?
Let's stop the destruction!
