Twaneh Summer Camp
Between
Sunday (11.7) and Thursday (22.7), the residents of the small
village Twaneh, held a summer camp for the kids of the village and the
nearby
villages of the cave dwellers from South Hebron Hills. Around 100 kids
attended
the camp in the elementary school, which is located in Twaneh.
The
initiative came from our Palestinian partners in South Hebron
Hills, and reflected on the commitment and good relations that Ta’ayush
built
in this area. The core members of the South Hebron committee in
Ta’ayush
decided to help out and make this a “personal” project, since this is
not a
“proper” Ta’ayush activity.
Our help was
given in two forms: We asked people to donate money
specifically for the camp, and we organized groups of gifted volunteers
that
came on their own free time and on their own expense, in order to work
with the
kids. The money went for camp uniforms (t-shirts and hats), various
materials
for the different activities (mainly stationary and artistic materials)
and two
special trips that the kids had (first one to Yatta and the second one
to
Jericho). Also, the kids had one day with a magician and balloons, and
another
day with a group of Palestinian musicians and storytellers.
Our groups
included volunteers from all over the world (Israel,
Ireland, U.S., Japan, Palestine, Canada, Italy, Belgium and Scotland).
The
activities included music, movement, juggling, drawing and sculpturing
workshops, story telling and various other fun games. Donations came
from all
over the world. Ta’ayush Jerusalem also gave us 1,000 n.i.s. Eventually
we
spent more money then what we planned, but besides that everything went
perfect.
We would like
to remind you that although these are good news, the
South Hebron Hills committee is now working with other Israeli
left-wing groups
and individuals, in order to address the worrying high court decision
which
might be given soon, regarding the army’s request to expel many of the
South
Hebron Hills cave dwellers from their land.

קייטנת טואנה
בין
יום ראשון (11.7) ליום חמישי (22.7) התקיימה בכפר הקטן טואנה קייטנה עבור
ילדי
הכפר וילדי הכפרים הסמוכים, של תושבי המערות בדרום הר חברון. כ-100 ילדים
השתתפו
בקייטנה שנערכה במבנה של בית-הספר היסודי בטואנה.
היוזמה
לקייטנה הגיעה משותפינו הפלסיטינים בדרום הר חברון ושיקפה את המחוייבות
והקשר
העמוק שנוצר בינם לבין תעאיוש. הגרעין הקשה של ועדת דרום הר חברון בתעאיוש
החליט
לעזור ולהפוך את זה לפרויקט "אישי", מאחר ולא מדובר בפעולה
"סטנדרטית" של תעאיוש.
העזרה
שלנו באה לידי ביטוי בשתי צורות: ביקשנו תרומות שיועדו למטרת הקייטנה
ואירגנו
קבוצות של מתנדבים מוכשרים שיעבדו עם הילדים (המתנדבים פינו לנו את זמנם
והסכימו
להשתתף בהוצאות הנסיעה). הכסף הלך למדי קייטנה (טי-שירטים וכובעים),
חומרים שונים
לפעילויות (בעיקר מכשירי כתיבה וחומרי גלם אומנותיים), ושני טיולים שנערכו
במהלך
השבועיים (הראשון לעיירה יאטה והשני ליריחו). כמו כן, לילדים היה יום עם
קוסם
ובלונים ויום עם להקת פלסטינית של מוזיקאים ומספרי סיפורים.
הקבוצות
שלנו כללו מתנדבים מכל העולם (ישראל, אירלנד, ארה"ב, יפן, פלסטין, קנדה,
איטליה, בלגיה וסקוטלנד). הפעילויות כללו סדנאות מוזיקה, תנועה, ג'אגלינג,
ציור
ופיסול, מספרי סיפורים ומשחקים
כיפיים שונים. התרומות התקבלו מכל העולם. תעאיוש ירושלים נתנו לפרויקט
1,000
ש"ח. בסופו של דבר, הוצאנו יותר כסף מהמתוכנן, אך פרט לכך הכל היה מושלם.
חשוב
להזכיר שלמרות שאלו הן חדשות טובות, ועדת דרום הר חברון עובדת כיום בשיתוף
עם עוד
ארגונים ואנשים מהשמאל הישראלי כדי להתכונן לקראת ההחלטה המדאיגה שבית
המשפט
העליון עלול לקבל בקרוב בנוגע לדרישת הצבא לגרש חלק גדול מתושבי המערות
מאדמתם.
