for 170 days

Yesterday evening (Sun. Jan. 30) Israeli Supreme Court judge Elyakim Rubinstein has published his decision to accept the state’s appeal to overturn the District Court Justice Zvi Gurfinkel’s ruling that Tali Fahima be “released” from prison and placed under house arrest until the end of legal proceedings in her trial.

Rubinstein writes: “We face the danger of a significantly sympathizing person with an ideological goal, where the border between an expression of sympathy and actual assistance has been blurred, as though it were wiped off... even if others could have read the material."

Yesterday morning (Sun. Jan. 30), judges Timen, Shapira, and Brosh refused attorney Smadar Ben Natan’s request to strike most of the charges against Tali Fahima from the indictment.
This coming Sunday, Feb 6th 2005, at 8:30 am, at the Tel-Aviv district court (Weizmann St. at Shaul HaMelech), judges Timen, Shapira, and Brosh will hold a short session to coordinate the trial session dates. Please try to come to the court hearing. It's important to be there, protest, show solidarity, and encourage Tali, for whom it's the sole opportunity to meet friends and supporters.
