The Distribution:
"Last Friday we, seven Israeli Jewish women, decided to travel to
Ramallah in order to express opposition to the war waged against the
Palestinian people, to express our solidarity with the Palestinian
people, and to witness and see what has been concealed by the Israeli
press. During our visit we assisted the Union of Palestinian Medical
Relief Committees (UPMRC) to distribute food to the people of
Ramallah when the curfew was lifted for a few hours.
The only food that was in the UPMRC offices came from the 4 trucks of
humanitarian aid that went to Ramallah from the demonstration in a-
Ram, one week ago. Nothing else.
Almost all of us who were present and tear-gassed few days prior, in
our effort to allow the passage of the trucks, found ourselves
handing out the same food, two days later, to needy families in
Ramallah in between tanks, soldiers, curfew and the destruction of
buildings, offices and infrastructure.
We all wanted to share this with you, the many activists who joined
the protest last week in a-Ram, in order to make visible to us all
the significance of each truck of food and medical supplies we are
able to organize, and to encourage us for our work."
