שוב ושוב הבטיחו קציני הצבא ויועציו המשפטיים שלתושבי צפון הר חברון מובטחת גישה יו מיומית וחופשית לאדמותיהם שנכללו בשטחי הביטחון הנרחבים של ההתנחלויות או מצויים מעבר לתוואי גדר ההפרדה.

ושוב ושוב אין להבטחות אלה כל קשר למתרחש בשטח.

בתאום מוקדם עם הצבא או בלעדיו, בכל פעם שהתושבים מנסים להגיע לאדמותיהם, קציני הביטחון של ההתנחלויות מורים לצבא לסלקם והשטח מוכרז "שטח צבאי סגור".

ביום שבת, 25 בפברואר, נצטרף, פעילי תעאיוש ומתנדבים ישראליים ובין-לאומיים לתושבים הפלסטינים בישובים שמצפון לחברון ביום עבודה משותף באדמותיהם אליהם מובטחת להם לכאורה גישה חופשית אך לא קיימת גישה כזאת הלכה למעשה. העונה בוערת, את גיזום עצי הפרי הנשירים יש לבצע עכשיו, ועתיד היבול של השנה הקרובה תלוי בכך.

רקע:

במהלך החודשים האחרונים, מא ז אישרה ממשלת ישראל את תוואי גדר ההפרדה באזור גוש עציון בפברואר 2005, נסגרות בפני תושבי האזור שבין חברון לבין גוש-עציון עוד ועוד מאדמותיהם: צווי תפיסה הוצאו לאדמות עליהן תעבור גדר ההפרדה עצמה - 466 דונם בפס ארוך שתחילתו באזור אפרת וסופו בכפר ג'בעה שליד הקו הירוק. אך חמור מכך, מעבר לתוואי הגדר מצויים 6000 דונם של אדמה חקלאית מעובדת השיכת לתושבי האזור, ואשר אליהם הם אינם יכולים עוד לגשת. במקביל הורחבו גם שטחי הבטחון של ההתנחלויות באזור, וכך למשל, נתפסו עוד 45.5 דונם של אדמות סביב התנחלות כרמי-צור לצורך הקמת גדר בטחון נוספת לישוב, ותושבי חלחול ובית-אומר אינם יכולים עוד לעבד מאות דונמים נוספים שבבעלותם המצויים בתוך שטח הבטחון של ההתנחלות. שוב ושוב הבטיחו קציני הצבא ויועציו המשפטיים שלתושבים מובטחת גישה יומיומית וחופשית לאדמותיהם, ושוב ושוב אין להבטחות אלה כל קשר למתרחש בשטח. בכל פעם שהתושבים מנסים לעבד את אדמותיהם, בתאום עם הצבא או בלעדיו, מגיעים כוחות הבטחון ומכריזים על השטח "שטח צבאי סגור". מאות מתושבי האזור, שפרנסתם מבוססת על החקלאות באדמות אלה, לא הצליחו להגיע לאדמותיהם ולו פעם אחת.

A joint work day in the fruit tree groves North of Hebron

Thousands of dunams of Palestinian agricultural land north of Hebron have lately been separated from their owners by the route of the separation barrier or else declared part of the ‘security of zones’ of settlements. Again and again the army officials and its legal authorities promise the farmers free access to these lands. Yet these promises have nothing to do with what actually takes place: each time the farmers try to get to their groves, settlers instruct the army to dismiss them and the area is promptly declared ‘closed military zone’.

On Saturday, 25^th February, Ta’ayush activists together with Israeli and international volunteers, will join the Palestinian farmers in a work day in the groves to which they are denied access in spite of well documented official promises. It is high season for pruning the fruit trees and this year’s harvest depends on it.

Background

During the last months, since the Israeli government agreed on the route of the separation barrier in the Gush-Etzion area, the Palestinians living between Hebron and Gush-Etzion are excluded from most of their agricultural lands: 466 dunams* were seized for the construction of the barrier itself; 6000 additional dunams lie beyond the route of the barrier and can no longer be reached. At the same time large areas surrounding the settlements were declared ‘security areas’. Thus, for instance, 45.5 dunams were seized in order to construct a barrier around the settlement of Karmei Tzur, leaving hundreds of dunams of land belonging to the inhabitants of Khalchool and Beit-Umar beyond this additional barrier. Again and again the army officials and its legal authorities promised the farmers free access to these lands. Yet these promises have nothing to do with what actually takes place: each time the farmers try to get to their groves, the settlers instruct the army to dismiss them and the area is promptly declared ‘closed military zone’. Hundreds of farmers, whose living depend on these lands, were unable to work in their groves even for a single day.
