Solidarity action in Majd El Krum

פעולת סולידריות במאג'ד אל-כרום

On the early morning of Mon Jun 3, 2002, at around 2:00 AM, bulldozers accompanied by large police force have arrived to the village of Majd El-Krum to destroy the house of Samich Salame. People from the village came in large numbers in an attempt to prevent the police from destroying the house. The police prevented them from accessing the house, using tear gas and rubber bullets. Few were injured, one was arrested and released afterwards. Eventually the house was destroyed .

The villagers, with the support of Ta'ayush activists among other groups and individuals, rebuilt the house that day.

Two weeks have passed and early on June 17th the state of Israel has ruined the house again.

בשעה שתיים לפנות בוקר יום שני,ה- 3 ביוני 2002, הגיעו בולדוזרים בחיפוי כוחות משטרה גדולים אל הכפר מג'ד אל כרום כדי להרוס את ביתו של סמיח סלאמה. כאשר נודע על הכוונה להרוס את הבית תושבי הכפר נקראו ברמקולים להגיע למקום כדי להתנגד להריסה. מאות תושבים הגיעו למקום אבל כוחות המשטרה מנעו מהם את הגישה לבית. המשטרה השתמשה בגז מדמיע וכדורי גומי ופצעה מספר תושבים. אדם אחד נעצר ושוחרר לאחר מכן. התושבים לא הצליחו למנוע את הריסת הבית.

תושבי הכפר, יחד עם תמיכתם של פעילי תעאיוש וארגונים נוספים, בנו מחדש את הבית עוד באותו היום.

שבועיים לאחר מכן, ב- 17 ביוני 2002, מדינת ישראל שבה והרסה את הבית.
